Lobbying Act

Unions and campaign groups have welcomed a promise from Labour leader Ed Miliband to repeal the Transparency of Lobbying, Non-party Campaigning and Trade Union Administration Act 2014, which received Royal Assent in January.

TUC general secretary Frances O’Grady said the Act “does nothing to curb the power of corporate lobbyists, yet hinders free speech, shuts campaign and community groups out of the democratic process and ties unions up in needless red tape”.
