RPI inflation unchanged

The annual rate of inflation under the Retail Prices Index (RPI) was unchanged in June at 1.0%. This rate is the preferred measure for union negotiators.

Inflation under the CPI Consumer Prices Index measure fell to 0.0% in June from 0.1% the previous month. This leaves it well below the Bank of England Monetary Policy Committee’s CPI target of 2.0%. The rate has been below 2.0% since January 2014.
