Freelances in Ireland


Irish unions have got the green light to seek collective bargaining agreements for freelance workers, having been banned from doing so since 2004.


A new law passed by the Irish government restores union rights to such “atypical” workers, and the NUJ journalists’ union (which covers Irish journalists) and Irish general union SIPTU have vowed to organise them.
