Strikers at Ryanair get ETUC support

The European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC) has expressed its support for the pilots and cabin crew in Ryanair who have recently been on strike. The low-cost airline was hit by strikes in a number of European countries in July and August, including Germany, Sweden, Ireland, Belgium, Portugal and Spain.

ETUC general secretary Luca Visentini said: “Workers throughout the EU are sick and tired of employers who don’t play fair and who try to undermine hard fought for rights by picking and choosing between national employment legislation.”
