Leave for domestic abuse survivors

The PCS civil service union is to launch negotiations with the Cabinet Office to secure 10 days’ paid leave for domestic violence survivors.

Delegates at its annual conference unanimously carried a motion calling for the allowance for all civil servants and staff in non-departmental public bodies.

It will be modelled on the flagship South Ayrshire council scheme. The local authority was the first organisation in the EU to offer leave for domestic abuse survivors.
