Sarah Woolley takes over at BFAWU

The new general secretary of the BFAWU bakers and foodworkers’ union has taken up her post early as a result of the COVID crisis.

Retiring leader Ronnie Draper was set to make his final bow at the union’s annual conference scheduled for this month, but that event has been cancelled because of the lockdown.

He therefore offered to stand down early to allow Sarah Woolley to ”take the reins and move the union forward”.
