Anti-racism ambassadors

The TUC’s Northern region is working with education charity Show Racism the Red Card this autumn to run an anti-racism ambassador programme to help union reps and members effectively challenge discrimination and prejudice in the workplace.

The online workshops for reps, activists and members will run on six consecutive Tuesdays from 13 October. They will include sessions on barriers to prejudice and the role of unconscious bias; the role of the law; and recognising and responding to prejudicial incidents.

One of the workshops will focus on allyship to show how better to support members of a work/friendship group who may be from marginalised groups.

The programme will also include a discussion on anti-Semitism and the emergence of the Black Lives Matter movement.
