Shielding advice

The government has announced that those who are “clinically extremely vulnerable” will no longer be advised to shield from Thursday 1 April.

They should continue working from home where possible, but if they are unable to do so, they should attend work, relying on employers’ legal duties to take steps to make workplaces COVID-19 secure.

The government is relying on falling infection levels, and that 90% of people in the clinically extremely vulnerable category have received a first dose of COVID-19 vaccines.
