CWU signs call-centre agreement

More than 4,000 call-centre staff are to be covered by a recognition deal struck last month between the CWU communications union and customer-relations company ClientLogic.

It is the first time ClientLogic, part of the Canadian Onex Corporation (OCX), has ever formalised a relationship with a trade union in the UK. The company has operations in Dundee, Alness, Bristol, Cardiff, Derby and Newcastle.

CWU assistant secretary Sally Bridge said: "This is a win/win situation. It gives the company the opportunity to build on excellent employment relations. The CWU meanwhile gets the chance to enter into a constructive dialogue on terms and conditions."
