Moss Evans

Moss Evans, general secretary of the Transport and General Workers Union (T&G) from 1978-1985, died last month aged 76. He was best known for his involvement in the 1979 "winter of discontent".

The current T&G general secretary, Bill Morris, described him as a "brave and courageous" leader who "maintained the fabric of the T&G and trade union movement despite attacks made on unions in the 1980s".
