Clergy Workers Memorial Day call

The clergy and church workers' section of Amicus is inviting its members to observe Workers' Memorial Day on Sunday 28 April 2002.

In its guidance the executive committee of the section points out that those who died in war are commemorated on Remembrance Sunday and it is an obligation to remember the countless numbers who have died in their workplaces.

The TUC will be using Workers' Memorial Day to campaign on improved access to occupational health services. "Remember the dead Fight for the living" is the slogan of Workers' Memorial Day now an annual event for trade unionists around the world.
