ACAS report

Tribunal complaints made to advisory service ACAS are up by nearly a third over the previous year, with 164,525 applications in 1999-00. Its annual report also shows that there was a 15% rise in requests for conciliation in industrial disputes.

Pay and conditions remained the main issue of dispute, but redundancy and trade union recognition disputes each accounted for 12% of cases.
