ILO jobless rate creeps up

There were 947,200 people out of work and claiming benefit in February, a decrease of 5,000 claimants on the previous month.

But measured on government's preferred measure - the International Labour Organisation count - unemployment rose by 8,000 to 1,528,000 in the three months to January, constituting an unemployment rate of 5.1%.
