GMB finances

The GMB general union has set out a plan to deal with its financial difficulties, which involves making around £5 million of savings.

It includes cutting staff, which it hopes to do through offering voluntary early retirement to staff at head office and in regional offices across the country.

The union is also likely to sell its current head office in Wimbledon and its prestigious National College in Manchester which employs some 50 staff.
