Offshoring agreement

Finance union Unifi has reached agreement with the bank HSBC on a deal to avoid compulsory redundancies as a result of the bank's decision to outsource 4,000 jobs to offshore sites.

There will be new arrangements for redeployment within HSBC in the UK, and the bank will discuss its globalisation plans with Unifi annually.

Unifi has already signed a similar agreement with Barclays.
