Expelling fascists

Unions have won the right to expel BNP members.

The train drivers' union ASLEF had expelled Jay Lee, a BNP activist, because his activities were incompatible with union membership. Lee took the union to a tribunal, seeking compensation.

On appeal the union has successfully shown that there is a right to expel. Now, provided Lee's activist role is confirmed, the expulsion will be upheld.
