TUC to champion safety reps on HSC

Hugh Robertson, the TUC's head of safety, has been appointed to the Health and Safety Commission (HSC).

Robertson, whose term of office as commissioner began on 1 April and lasts for three years, says promoting and developing the lifesaving role of union safety reps will be a priority: "The TUC aims to put the issues of worker involvement and enforcement to the top of the HSC agenda. We will be raising the need for new safety reps' rights at every opportunity, including roving reps and the right to issue Provisional Improvement Notices."
