Seven up for safety ministers

Jane Kennedy MP has become minister of state for work at the Department for Work and Pensions - and the seventh health and safety minister in under seven years. She takes over from Des Browne, who is replacing Beverley Hughes as immigration minister.

Kennedy was an organiser with NUPE (now part of UNISON) from 1988 to 1992, and is a former trade union tutor.
