Cheaper fares cut inflation

Cheaper petrol and air fares cut inflation for the second month. The Consumer Prices Index (CPI), which excludes housing costs and is the government's preferred measure, fell from 2.3% in October to 2.1% in November.

Inflation, under the more widely recognised Retail Prices Index (RPI), fell for the fourth month in a row to stand at 2.4% in November.
