Church sees the light after recognition vote

Professional union Amicus is looking forward to signing a recognition deal with the Church of Scotland after staff voted overwhelmingly in favour of recognising the union.

If granted, recognition – which was approved by 85% to 15% in a ballot with 80% turnout – will cover 240 Amicus members.

“This is a historical agreement for the Church of Scotland and Amicus,” said regional officer Gordon Casey. “We will now work in partnership to repay the faith shown in us by the staff.”
