3.6% plus bonus at car maker

Workers at car manufacturer Toyota, members of the Amicus section of general union Unite, have settled for a 3.6% pay rise plus a 0.7% collective bonus.

The single-union agreement covers 4,500 manual, clerical, administrative and managerial staff at the manufacturing plant at Burnaston, Derbyshire, and the engine making plant at Deeside, North Wales.

The deal also includes two weeks' paternity leave, of which two days are paid at the individual's normal rate and the balance at the rate of statutory sick pay.
