Sunvic deal gets a warm welcome

Industrial action has won improved work security for 40 workers at Sunvic Controls, the central heating controls manufacturer, in Uddingston in South Lanarkshire.

The 40 female staff spent 10 weeks on strike after the failure of 14-month-long talks on periodic short-term lay-offs. But a deal was reached following intensive negotiations, brokered by the ACAS arbitration and conciliation service .
