BT pension plan accepted

Communications unions CWU and Connect have voted in ballots of their members to accept the proposed deal on pension changes negotiated with BT (see Workplace Report, November 2008). CWU members voted 67% to 33% in favour of the deal that sees final salary pensions restricted and improvements in the benefits available to those in the defined contribution schemes. Connect members were 85% in favour. The deal will now be signed jointly with BT.
