Rubber cancer risk

Workers who are regularly exposed to a chemical used to manufacture rubber may be at higher risk of getting cancer.

Researchers found that workers at the Flexsys plant near Wrexham in Wales (known locally as the Ruabon Works) who had come into contact with the chemical 2-mercaptobenzo- thiazole, (MBT) were twice as likely to die of large intestine and bladder cancers.
