Organising in the recession workshops

The TUC has reported a “fantastic” response to its union reps and stewards briefings on Coping with the economic downturn.

As the TUC’s organising department points out: “There has never been a more important and relevant time to make the case for unions and to organise to make a difference.”

The one-day briefing and training sessions include presentations and workshops on: what the downturn means for unions; preventing and coping with redundancy; why skills matter in a downturn; and beyond the workplace – helping members deal with downturn. Participants also receive a free copy of the TUC’s new package of support materials for reps on effective representation in a downturn.

The next three venues will be Preston (1 April), Liverpool (3 April) and London (4 April).
