Women leading in learning

To mark International Women’s Day this month, the TUC has published Women leading in learning, a book of case studies highlighting the central role women are playing in delivering lifelong learning in the workplace. Most new union learning reps are women.

Unionlearn director Liz Smith said: “Once women overcome their initial lack of confidence they go from strength to strength. Therefore when employers support learning by giving time off to learn, and set this out in a Learning Agreement, or commit to the Skills Pledge, it is women who are often the winners.”
