Strike over sacking

The UCU lecturers union is balloting members at Glyndwr University on strike action to support a sacked colleague.

Hamish Murphy, who was the UCU branch chair, was allegedly sacked for his trade union activities. The union said he had been “instrumental” in exposing a serious problem of management bullying and harassment of staff.
