Attacks on NHS workers condemned

Health union UNISON has condemned the continuing high level of attacks on NHS workers. The NHS Security Management Service annual survey published last month recorded nearly 55,000 assaults on NHS staff last year, slightly down on the previous year.

Karen Jennings, UNISON’s head of health, said: “The number of attacks on NHS workers is still too high and needs to be tackled. We need more sanctions and a national system put in place for reporting assaults.”
