Health questions during recruitment

The Government Equalities Office (GEO) has published a guide to which questions can no longer be asked about health and disability during the recruitment process as a result of new provisions contained in the Equality Act 2010. It also highlights the few specific circumstances when questions about health and disability can be asked. Go to www.equalities.gov.uk/pdf/110406%20pre%20employment%20questions.pdf

The GEO has also announced that it will be producing regular trans e-bulletins for the trans community. This follows on from the March launch of the initiative “Working for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender equality: moving forward” which sets out how the government will tackle lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender inequality.
