Unions sign recognition deal with Sodexo

The country’s three largest unions have signed a national recognition agreement with services provider Sodexo, which employs 43,000 workers in the UK.

The national framework agreement between the company and Unite, UNISON and the GMB outlines their commitment to joint working and the right to form a union. It also identifies guiding principles for the relationship between managers, union reps and other employees.

The company is the seventh largest in Europe and the deal will provide the unions with an opportunity to unionise a large pool of private sector workers.
