C2C in two-year deal

C2C Rail in the East of England has followed the pattern of other train operators by agreeing a higher-than-average two-year pay deal. Workers will receive a 4.25% increase on basic rates and allowances with effect from 1 July 2011, and a 3.5% increase or RPI (for May), whichever is greater, from 1 July 2012.

Workplace Report last month reported a number of other high-end two-year deals being struck in the transport sector which appear to offer the only hope of matching inflation.
