New pay benchmarking service for local councils

The Local Government Association, together with a group of regional employers, has developed a new public sector pay benchmarking service, known as Epaycheck.

According to the LGA’s Workforce Bulletin, it will provide participating local authorities with access to “real time” pay benchmarking data for hundreds of common roles. Each participating council will be required to upload and match its own data to agreed templates.

Union reps and officers can help ensure that information on occupational pay rates in the public sector is also available to the trade union side, through the LRD Payline database and Workplace Report. That can be done by providing details of your employer’s current pay structures, and the jobs covered by different grades to LRD, and keeping us up-dated about any changes.
