Fair Work Commission

Unions21 has established a Fair Work Commission which will run from November 2012 to March 2013. It aims to bring together new ideas on “how to reduce unfairness in the workplace and improve the offer to British workers”.

Areas to be examined by the commission include: how to break down barriers to fairness in the workplace; ways to make pay fairer and ways to make workplaces more family friendly.

An online survey asks a number of specific questions on a maximum pay ratio between executives and their workforce, the National Minimum Wage and the Living Wage, the use of internships, parental leave, care for the elderly, bereavement leave, training, and temporary and agency workers.
