Extra facility time at Carrefour

French supermarket group Carrefour has signed a new facilities agreement giving union representatives increased rights.

It allows each of the four unions present in the company to nominate both a main and a deputy representative. The main reps are entirely free from normal duties and can spend all their time on union activities; the deputies are given 50 hours’ facility time a month. In addition, each union is given a budget of €4,000 a year to cover items such as a laptop, internet access and a printer.

€1 was worth 86p on 17 April.
