Aberystwyth University

Aberystwyth University faces industrial action over planned pension changes that would leave many staff worse off in retirement. It is consulting on proposals to close the defined benefit pension scheme and replace it with a defined contribution scheme for staff on grade 5 and below.

“Some of our members could see their pensions cut by as much as 65%,” warned UNISON branch chair Dic Griffiths.
