Slovak minimum wage up

The Slovak government has decided to increase the national minimum wage by 7.95% to €380 a month, a time when prices are falling by 0.1% (September).

The government acted after the body, bringing together unions, employers and the government failed to reach agreement. Prime Minster Robert Fico said: “It must be more worthwhile to work than sit at home on welfare.”
