Working longer

Unions should campaign for proper research into the impact of working longer, the CSP union for physiotherapists said.

Physio Fiona Hall told a TUC disabled workers’ conference that young workers expect to be working until they are 70, but that many may not be fit for work in their late 60s. She said that those carrying out “physically exacting” work and those with degenerative eye conditions may find it increasingly difficult to stay in full-time employment as they enter their 60s and 70s.
