‘Justice delayed is justice denied’

The FACK (Families Against Corporate Killers) campaign group has welcomed the sentence of £99,000 plus £116,800 costs handed down to specialist plant hire company Ruislip Plant Ltd as “some justice” for Ben Wylie’s family. He was fatally injured while undertaking maintenance on a piling rig on a construction site in May 2014. The incident could have been avoided if Ruislip Plant Ltd had undertaken a risk assessment and devised a safe system of work, said the HSE.

“Families Against Corporate Killers welcome the sentence but note that justice delayed so long is always to some extent justice denied,” said FACK facilitator Hilda Palmer.
