Ballot leads to recognition

The GMB general union has won a claim for recognition for workers at two Fablink Tank Systems sites in County Durham, following a ballot ordered by the Central Arbitration Committee.

Out of 158 workers eligible to vote, 125 did so, with 70% of them voting in favour of recognition. The number of votes supporting the proposal as a percentage of the bargaining unit was 55%, easily passing the 40% minimum threshold for statutory recognition.
