Long-term deal for Probation Service

The new long-term deal covering 6,500 staff, both manual and non-manual, in

the Probation Service provides for increases of 3% from 1 April 2000, 2% from 1 March 2001 and a final stage of 2% from 1 November 2001. The settlement includes a commitment to develop a revised salary structure, applies the above increases to London Weighting, increases sleeping-in allowances to o26 from 1 July 2000 and then o28 from 1 July 2001, and increases standby allowances to o20 from 1 July 2000 and o22 from 1 July 2001.
