Employment protection payments

With effect from 1 February 2000 the maximum weekly pay for calculating redundancy pay rose from £220 to £230. Guarantee pay, which is paid during the first five days of lay off, is set at £16.10. The minimum basic award in health and safety and employee representative and union dismissal cases rises to £3,100 and the minimum compensation award in trade union exclusion/expulsion cases goes up to £5,300
