TUC to launch stakeholder scheme

The TUC is to launch a stakeholder pension targetted at what it estimates are the one million trade unionists without any form of pension. However, general secretary John Monks made it clear that the decision would not affect continuing campaigning by the TUC to get improvements in the government's overall stakeholder proposals, including some element of compulsory contribution from employers.
