All transport workers excluded from working time rights

The European Court of Justice has confirmed that the Working Time Directive (in the UK the Working Time Regulations 1998) does exclude all those who work within the transport sector. This is so even if the work that they do is not in the nature of what would be assumed to be transport work. This means that clerical workers in transport firms are excluded from the protection of the directive.
