Working time

The European Commission has begun infringement proceedings against the UK government over the fact that UK law allows individuals to opt out of the maximum 48-hour week. In a case taken to Europe by Amicus-MSF the Commission has acknowledged that the current UK law allowing individuals to opt out of the protection from working too many hours, is in breach of the EU directive on working time.
