GMB wins over £4m for injured worker

In July the High Court awarded Tracy Henworth £4.35 million compensation for injuries sustained on the way back from a work's Christmas party. Tracy, a member of the GMB general union, was injured in 1997 when a mini-van she was in was struck by an articulated lorry. She has been left with a severe brain injury and will require 24-hour care for the rest of her life. The vast majority of the damages were awarded to pay for the future cost of care.
