New baking industry guidance

The HSE has produced a new practical and legal guidance for the baking industry.

Most injuries and ill health in bakery workers are caused by manual handling, slips and trips, occupational asthma, workplace transport, falls from height and noise.

The book also contains useful guidance on other hazards, such as bakery machinery, confined spaces, fire and explosion, electrical safety and risks in cleaning.

Copies of A baker's dozen: thirteen essentials for health and safety in bakeries, price £13.50 can be ordered from HSE Books
