Victimised whistleblowers on the railways

Victimised whistleblowers is a new booklet from the London Hazards Centre which provides an insight into the disastrous effects of privatisation on the rail industry.

Contributors Sarah Friday and Greg Tucker, from rail union RMT and Laurie Holden from train drivers' union ASLEF were victimised for their activities as safety reps by train companies South West Trains and Connex.

The booklet argues that train companies have systematically attacked rail workers' conditions and simultaneously undermined safety. They conclude that workplaces need strong union organisation to protect health and safety.

Copies of Victimised whistleblowers, ed. Sarah Friday, can be ordered for £1 from the London Hazards Centre - phone 0207 794 5999.
