Pay round so far

The mid-point trend for the pay round so far has been 3.1% and some the early New Year deals have settled at around that level. At Clairemont Electronics in Greenock there was a January pay rise of 3% for 445 manufacturing workers, although this was their first increase since 2001.

Three hundred manual and non-manual staff at National Railway Supplies in Crewe, York and Brighton had pay rises of 3.5% at 'satisfactory' level and 3.75% at 'advanced level' with effect from 1 January. There is also to be a bonus of 2.4% paid on the achievement of budgeted profit before tax.
