ISTC takes up women's health and safety

The community union ISTC sent packs to all its safety reps as part of international women's day celebrations this month.

The union issued materials from the European Agency for Safety and Health that highlight the neglect of women's health and safety, and urged reps to take women workers' safety seriously in their workplaces.

ISTC research officer Robert Sneddon said: "Risk assessment and prevention need to be more gender sensitive and take into consideration the diversity of the workforce."
