Firefighters boycott mock chemical attack

Firefighters have boycotted an anti-terrorist exercise after their union advised them not to take part in the mock chemical attack at Dundee harbour. Firefighters' union FBU said it had concerns for its members' safety as the brigade had not properly completed risk assessments.

FBU Scottish secretary Kenny Ross said: "We are quite happy to take part in this kind of exercise as long as the proper preparations have been done. The risk assessments are some of the worst I have seen in 14 years of being a safety representative."
